Nice Interior
OK, I did something I shouldn't have done today...
I actually stopped at the local Mitsu dealership to see if they had an EVO by any chance. Well, they had 2, a yellow and a white one. I have to say the yellow really looks great in real life. The White looked a little stale...
In any case, this was a mistake because I now want one really, really bad. The 30G price is no longer scary after seeing how beautiful and purpose built this car is. I could go on and on, but everyone already knows this: once you see one, you'll just long to get one. It is haunting!
My comment on the EVO goes as follows:
I sat in it, and was nicely surprised at the overall quality of the interior. Particularly after hearing all the negative comments made. I have to admit that it is mostly due to the awesome hug I got from the RECARO seats. I loved the texture of the cloth and suede, but I also felt the plastics were nice. Everything felt tight, and the instrument cluster did not look cheap nor generic at all. The shifter was super tight and in the perfect place, the knob was a little small though and too rough. The pedals were spaced perfectly and the steering wheel was exactly the right diameter. The only thing I wished for was a height adjustment for the seats (oh well right). Other than that, I have had several german cars such as VW and Audis, and I have always felts they reined in the department of interior quality, design and build. However, I have to say that I felt at home in the EVO. Unlike the WRX and its Godzilla-like cheap and creaky, ugly dash...
Sorry for the long post, I just love this car!
