quick ac/heater question
i think my ac is out....i turn it on and it blows nothing but hot air, am i low on fluid or i have a leak or the compressor is bad....any ideas?? dont flame i knwo nothing about air conditioners......
ok if you know what the compressor looks like and what the clutch on it is , have someone turn the car on while you look at the compressor clutch, have the person turn the ac on and off. If the clutch engages and disengages you probaly dont have electrical problems. If the compressor doesnt make noise (alot of noise) its probaly good. (compressors are expensive). Probaly you just lost some freon you can get it filled at any shop that has the machine, don't waste your money on those self fill kits, for an ac recharge most shops charge around $100 and check for leaks and check the operation of the compressor.
If the compressor is engaging the clutch and it's not squeeling like a stuck pig, then take it by a shop and have the system recharged. If the clutch isn't engaging, you need to check the fuses and relays for the a/c system.

ok i checked the compressor and the clutch did not engage....no noise whatsoever is coming from it, all fuses related the the ac system were checked, and turns out all fuses are good......so im guessing my compressor is out??? what do these things run to fix you said it was expensive.....basically what price range here
I didn't think the clutch would engage if you were low on fluid. The refil kits are definetely not a waste of money, they are the best way to go. I always use them, its only like 20 dollars to recharge the system.
