Whats so funny is everyone is splitting hairs trying to decide which car is better. Both the STi and the EVO are great cars with huge potential.

I'm getting an STi some time in July - on waiting list- but I'm not going to bad mouth EVO's. That would be silly and just make me look stupid. Anyone who bad mouths an STi is pretty stupid. They know its a great car.

I didn't buy my WRX because it had 227hp. I don't think anyone I know did. We bought a WRX because of its potential. With just the right mods it a V8 killer.

The EVO and the STi are perfect platforms for easy modifications. Either car will respond extremely well to mods. If you buy an EVO or an STi and leave it bone stock you bought the wrong car. Spend a few bucks on exhaust mods and some engine management and your car will be a totally different animal.
Both cars should run easy mid to high 12s with basic, inexpensive mods.

I was in agreement with you until this:

Yes, it's fun to mod your car. But unless you want to rip all the mods off and sell them separately, you've devalued it when you decide to sell it. Both cars are excellent performers, even "bone stock".
