Loud Clunk

i was Driving my Evo a little hard, just getting it to spool a little and some quick cornering and i Came to a red light where i Of course stoped and idled. The Idle was raised for a second then fell ( weird) I check the ac which was off and the Defroster wasn't on. Then Right after that The fron End made a Realy loud clunk and the Car stalled. So I cranked it and it started right back Up, So i took it back to my shop and checked it out. I couldn't find anything, the clunk kinda sounded like a spring settleling, the car only has 1500 miles on it and this is pretty much one of the few times I did some hard driving with the car. But why did the car stall, it didn't just like shut off it sputtered a little and Stalled. Then i crank it and started up pretty quick.

None Stock. I don't want to take it to the Dealer cuss i know they won't fix it and They will beat the **** out of it. Plus i work at a shop. I hooked up the Modis Right after the First Stall and read all the Fuel trims, no more or less than 1.5% an 3% Flux. O2 are running Rich Lean Rich Lean. The rear o2 petty much stays aroun .15 to .35 volts unless you gass it alittle. The MAF is reading 22kpa. IAT is at 30C. to me every thing looks normal. I got the MR with the Gauges, not sure how accurate they are but the Vaccum Decreaces and the Car just sputters to a stall. after that you can just crank it and it starts. I also checked the EGR and the Selonoid, And the Vaccume hoses. I told the valve to flow and the car sputtered alittle but not stalled so thats not the problem. I also Checked the IC Pipes that I can See and the ABV Recirculation Tube still good. I am gonna Do a Smoke test tomarrow.

Is this your first manual car? If you're not used to manual, especially the Evo's late engagement clutch pedal, you might be stalling the car. You said, it happens when you stop then go again, no other time, so it's likely you just not doing the transition right.

I'd take it back to mitsubishi right a way. I would be pretty pissed off, son. I think that if you have only had the car so long and it's causing problems its instantly a lemon. I remember hearing about that when a buddy of mine had his car replaced under the lemon law with only 300 miles on it. It was a WRX, the turbo popped, and he got a new car instantly.

I am gonna go and see if i can find anything wrong with it. I got a A tip from IATN that the Fuel Regulator vaccum hose doesn't have a clamp and can be forced off. Expecialy if it gets wet. So i am gonna Check that NOW.
