I drive an 05 Evo 8 with a Turbo XS Exhaust and DP with stock cat. Yesterday I noticed that the car is acting weird when I accelerate. I shift between 3000-3500 rpm. When I press on the gas pedal to maintain speed or accelerate lightly....the rpms rise about 500-800 rpm and then decrease. I noticed this in 2nd-4th gear.

I was wondering could this be the clutch....but when this occurs. my foot is not on the clutch. Or could this be something else. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I do not have a boost gauge (so unable to check for boost leak).......but I checked all the piping that I could see and they are fine.
