Do Not Service Your Car W/ Mitsu

Just to let everyone know if you do not know much about your car do not bring it a mitsu dealer bring it to a evo mechanic. I read up and learned a bit about fluids before going in. I know that the transmittion fluid is different than the transfercase fluid and rear differential fluid. i went in to order it and the guy gives me transfer case fluid telling me it works on the transmition also. Then the mechanic comes in and tells me tats what your supposed to use on all of them. After calling all three of them morons i just left and told the mechanic to just quit now. This is what happens to your car when you leave it there....This was at great neck mitsu on long island, where there was a really nice white evo i think mr being worked on w/ mods.

well my local dealership is retarded, my evo is the 3rd one they have seen since they came out. they told me that it takes the same fluids (motor oil and gear oil) as the lancer ralliart. and when i tried to buy diaqueen i had to explain to them where it is used. they told me if i used diaqueen in the transfer case and rear it would void my warranty. and this is joe pecheles in greenville nc.

yup...mine too...i went there months ago for my first oil change, since i was there already with my oil and i bought the oil filter so i figure...ill let them do it...anyways

This old guy was charging me $95.00...Yes ninety-five dollars...i acted like i didnt know what was going on...so i said OKAY...howcome its 95 bucks?...he said "because your car is an EVO and we have to put synthetic oil, a different kind of oil.." i said, "are you fuc**ing with me???, dont give me that fuc**ing B.S[in a low voice], i have the oil and the filter with me, i could gave done it myself" he said "okay $10" so i said okay...they took it to the back where i know it will be safe because i know the mechanic and i was there...i told the mechanic and he was shocked too...
few days later...
Mitsu called me for my opinion to their service and i told them EVERYTHING.

The only good experience I had from a service center (putting on flame cap) was actually a chevy dealership... I will never take my EVO or my Honda back to a dealership.

I think the only reason I got good service from the chevy dealership was because I worked there

Mine was the best, i went in asking for Transfer Fluid, Specifically asked for Diaqueen.....He left and returned with 2 bottles marked Hyundia, and told me that it was just as good as the Diaqueen and it was what they used to service all thier vehicles.........::Shakes Head::

No check this, I gave a dealership here the EXACT part # for the Diaqueen LSD oil (TC oil) and they gave me a jug of ATF SPIII oil!!! They told me to put that in the transfer case just because the part # matched!! OMG! They would have had me put effin auto tranny fluid in my friggin transfer case!!! Idiots... the part ended up being mislabed with the wrong part #. I got it sorted out by looking at all the canisters myself and picking out the LSD Gear Oil SAE90.

Id never let any of them fools no where near my car. Then agian Id never let any mechanic shop near my car either. If I havent done it yet I find somone who has and get them to help me. Cause if they put that stuff in you guy's TC's Diff's or tranny's say goodbye then youll have to prove to them that they caused the problem and youll end up paying for it. Trust me.

Since were on the topic how frequently should the tranny, TC, and diff fluids be changed? Mine is an 03' with 35k on the clock. I dont know if the previous owner changed the fluid or not.
