I just got done deleting my rear wiper on my 9 MR. I bought a Civic EG rear wiper plug due to the recommendation on the forum and well it doesn't work I managed to find a rubber plug that came out of a Porsche in my garage. Peep.

go to :
http://www.harmancorp.com/mycart/add...08%253a05%2BPM

and order a sample of the part number ZZS1418-2P018

the plug will arrive in about 4 days and its free!

Has a pretty good seal. I notice after a 2 hour heavy rain only about a teaspoonful of water had gotten in and this is with putting no sealant on the flanges. I am going to seal it and that should take care of that little bit of water.

*EDITED*

Visibility doesn't get that bad with a little rain on there, more of just an annoyance to me. Also since the rear window glass such a high slope during rain it normally stays pretty dry as long you keep moving and when still the high slope angle doesn't cause enough water build up to bother me.

break your rear window, have insurance replace it with a lancer window...
I believe it is free to replace, no deductible. just an idea.

I need to buy a digital scale and take pics of parts and their weight the scale says. I see a lot of even numbers floating which leads me to believe that they may be approximations and not exactly what the scale says.

Post #5 has a long list of stuff and post #11 has a short list but seems more accurate because it has more significant figures in the wieghts.

Sweet! Thanks Bro, just ordered mine. I will try this out until I have spare cash to replace the rear glass with RS glass, then re-tint it.
I'll never use my rear wiper and it just bothers me to look at, especially since I'm wingless. It sticks out like a soar thumb. If i was going to rally this car i might use it, other than that I dont wanna look like a freakin minivan or SUV from the back. Plus its always nice to save weight where you can. weight savings has huge benefits for handling, braking, and of course acceleration!

I just used the same plug mentioned above. I used clear silicone to seal it. I installed mine in from inwards as I didnt want that cup facing out collecting dirt, water etc...Mine is mainly a track car, so I am not too worried about it

I just ordered one as well. Thanx a lot for the tip, but how did you even find this place? There's a guy on SoCal Evo that's trying to sell plugs for $35/piece

i think the motor assembly for the rear wiper is the heaviest part of the system, and its only like 5lbs or something like that. so not oo much in weight savings.

but consider that not having that wiper there, the air will be less turbulated coming over your trunk lid. and maybe that airflow would have a positive impact on traction, kinda like the difference betwen the MR aluminum roof and the heavier GSR roof.
