Angry Bugs in the intercooler...

what do you guys use to clean the bugs out of the intercooler fins... it's kinda hard to get at, and i wouldn't want to shoot a super strong stream of water against the fins...

maybe a little stiff bristle paint brush or something to scrape them out...?

I have a cheap $150.00 , 1500 psi (supposedly;-) pressure washer that works great. Not enough pressure to damage anything, but just enoung to get rid of pesky bugs. I have also used a regular commercial car wash sprayer/wand at a reasonable distance, and have yet to have any issues.

I live in Missouri, and bugs are bad news.

hahahah, ok man

oh yea, i havent looked at the intercooler closely but..if their anything like the fins on the radiator, it's probably best if u use water instead of a brush cause a brush tends to scratch or bend the fins.

i was thinking a fine tip paint brush, like a model paint brush... nothing that would damage the fins...

damn bugs need to stay off the road or look both ways before buzzing through...

I know it's tedious, but I used a long very thin bladed screwdriver and gently got each big bug out of the intercooler. I then straightened the fins where the bugs had dented them. It took awhile, but I got it back to 'normal' again.
Just be very careful with the fins, as they are not much stronger than two-ply tinfoil in consistency!

if you think the bugs in PA are bad, don't EVER come down to florida during our love-bug season (currently underway), ESPECIALLY if your ride is white. i am not making this up; if you drove on I-75 for more than an hr this time of year you would have literally HUNDREDS maybe even close to a thousand of those little jerks all over the front of your car.
