Have you done a compression test to see if the cylinder is bad....or is the plug just fouled?

The owners book states that the car comes with a 5year 50,000 mile powertrain warranty , so if the engine is bad they should have to fix it. But if I had just bought the car on Sunday and the engine was bad, I would tell them to take the car back and go by another some where else.....just my two cents

An even 170 across all four cylinders, they should not have more than a 10 psi diff. between each cylinders.....max

if they replace the rings in that cylinder do you think it will fix it? or does it need a hole motor?

the dealer wont go that far and replace the piston rings, ther gonna swap a new engine! replacing the rings would probably do the trick.

Sorry about that man, but yea i hope you get a new engine out of it! Did this dealership never check it the car over though? It just seems sorta shady to me...

Most dealers just try to move used evo's as fast as possible because they know of all the problems that usually come with them. I've even seen a dealership local to me, Lonestar Mitsu of San Antonio allow the former owner to pretty much set up the deal through them for a completely ignorant buyer. Car was sold with a stand alone capable of only supporting one map and that was on like over 50% alchy injection. Trust no Mitsubishi dealerships guys.
