Are the standard lancer and the Evo's ..

body panels the same? I'm just curious

No, most of the body panels are not the same because the Evo is much wider than the regular lancer. The trunk might be the same tho...not sure

I think the cars share the same carpet and gauge cluster, but thats about it.

The fenders and quarter panels are wider and made of aluminum on the Evo. The trunk is also made of aluminum.

I believe the windshield is different as well (Evo is thinner glass). Read that on here in more than one thread.
