Help...electrical problem

My friend is having some problems with his evo.
But the other day someone put her bag in the trunk and knocked out this plug on the "roof" of the trunk (not the trunk lid). It is a two prong plug in a white plastic housing it looks a litte bit like a ground. [Will post pics later] With the plug out he started the car and everything seemed to work, (headlights, gauge back lights etc.)

When he got home put plug back in the wrong place and got sparks, and now the dome light and the clock do not work. Other than that everything else works but when he turns on the car it resets the trip odometer and radio as if you disconnected the battery. We checked most fuses and couldnt find a blown fuse.

Anyone have a clue whats going on? I know its hard to figure out what this plug in the trunk is without pictures but I'll post picutres as soon as he gives em to me.

sounds like the plug for the trunk light. Tell him to put plug it back in correctly and replace the fuse that he blew.

ya the weird thing is that everything resets in his car every time he turns it on (trip/radio stations)...so what fuse would control this?
