Rob

it was a top-down shot of him, and it was very quick... I'll look next time

as to citroen coming to the US, or pugoet returning, with the success of the focus ZX3/SVT, WRX, and EVO, I feel they'll have a good market. To be honest, if I saw a 206 with AWD, a 2.0 turbo motor, and it were...say...20k to 25k, I would definately think of picking one of those up instead of an EVO. However, I expect the prices of the 2k3 EVO's to drop a few thousand next year, so if the price of a 2k3 EVO was ~23k, and a new..let's pretend...2k5 206 for the same price, I'd still take the EVO

Automaker Prepares New Campaign Based on Universal Pictures' '2Fast, 2Furious;' Company Begins Airing First Lancer Evolution Spot and Phase Two of Endeavor Ads

CYPRESS, Calif., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) announced plans today for a new television ad campaign based on the forthcoming launch of Universal Pictures' "2Fast, 2Furious," the sequel to the smash hit 2001 movie "The Fast and the Furious," scheduled for release on June 6, 2003. The company also announced that the first television ad for Lancer Evolution will begin airing today and that the second phase of Endeavor spots are now in rotation.

The new television ad, based on "2Fast, 2Furious," was created by Deutsch LA and will feature the 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Convertible and the 2003 Lancer OZ Rally edition. It will include scenes from the movie staring Paul Walker and Tyrese.

"'2Fast, 2Furious' is a natural showcase for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution ( ) and Eclipse Spyder," said Greg O'Neill, president and chief operating officer, Sales Division, MMNA. "The fast-paced excitement of the movie perfectly parallels the style and performance of the Mitsubishi brand."

Mitsubishi Motors is the official automotive sponsor of "2Fast, 2Furious" and the movie features the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and Eclipse Spyder as the hero vehicles driven by Walker and Tyrese. Mitsubishi Motors donated vehicles for use in the movie but did not pay for the product placement. The new television ad will begin airing May 19, 2003 across national network and cable stations. Mitsubishi Motors and Universal Pictures are also currently developing a series of other co-branded promotional activities that will begin closer to the movie's launch date.

Separate from the co-branded efforts with Universal Pictures, Mitsubishi began airing today the first television commercial for the Lancer Evolution. The ad, titled "Religion," is based on the vehicle's championship rally heritage and long-standing popularity in the automotive enthusiast community. The ad cuts from scenes of Lancer Evolution thrashing around corners of a rally course to the vehicle attracting throngs of enthusiasts on the car show circuit. The ad began airing today on national television and cable.

Mitsubishi also confirmed that the company began airing a new commercial for the 2004 Endeavor crossover S.U.V. as part of the company's next phase of Endeavor's marketing campaign. The campaign, one of the largest that Mitsubishi Motors has ever executed, began in March and is expected to continue throughout the year.

Since Endeavor was first introduced, the response from the automotive press has been very positive. The new ad features comments on Endeavor from some of the top automotive reporters in the world combined with dynamic visual imagery consistent with Mitsubishi's energetic brand position. The latest installment of the Endeavor campaign features the same high-energy, attention- grabbing music from the first Endeavor spot, a song called "Horndog" by Overseer. The ad began airing May 3, 2003 on national television and cable.

I also caught about half of it watching fear factor,,,, I was like COOL an evo commercial finally!!!!!!!! It was like a dream or somthing?

Im sooooo happy with Mitsubishi for not having the hip hop music in the background , and very proud of them for not having that stupid ***** doing the hand dance sittting in the car!!!!!!

Not too shabby, cant wait for more,, just please Mits., dont make it like your other cheesey commercials,, or I might have to sell my EVO.

I saw the second Endeavor commercial.

I'm scared. Scared that the 2F2F movie will push Evo prices through the roof a'la the Supra.

Saw the commercial like 3 times last night here in Cali. Thought it was kick *** , the best mitsu commercial yet, targeting the exact market they should be targeting. Personally, I think Mitsu is doing an awesome job with their marketing lately, all their commercials are pretty cool.......except the for girl in eclispse having a seizure/diahrrea. And there are purposefully no slow mo shots/clear pics of the evo to keep it somewhat mysterious at first, just like all newly released cars-so ppl ask what the hell was that???and go to the internet to check it out. Just my fitty cent....

This promotional blitz is putting forth I'm affraid will make all the lay people over a car they didn't even know was here. I hate to say this but I believe the prices of the Evos will once again skyrocket. The whole purpose of advertising is to make MONEY... I won't be ready to purchase my Evo for another two to three weeks, and I'm scared to see what the prices will be and if any are still left on the lots.

tpm,
prices probably will go up due to ppl now knowing this car is out there....should have got yours a little earlier. But if you could hold out a little longer, the prices will definitely drop once again assuming they do spike, just like they dropped after the first supply initially got here.

what you guys should be worried about is the insurance prices going up due to fast and furiousers getting their hands on this car.
