No, because there are too many made and they are non-homologated cars. There is also going to be the Evo9 etc and so it wont be a collectible.

The ones that truely hold their value are the extremely rare cars. Even the Integra TypeR holds their value pretty well. The ITR had about 1000 cars made for the US each year.

But then again, if you consider how many people go out and mod their cars.. the few stock ones left would probably be worth a bit more... who knows.. wonder what the resale value of these cars would be.

The UK is probably a good example.
They have a lot of Evos though, all the iterations.

Prices of used Evos, like most cars, have dropped a lot.

What is the ITR car.

I thought the Evos would be collectable because there are no evos in the U.S only for this year but from what you guys are saying it looks like Mitsubishi will build Evos every year.

Integra Type R.

And yeah, the Evo 8 will depreciate over time just like every other mass produced car.

it could be... look at how valuable 64 1/2 mustangs are, or cobras, or Sunbeam Tigers, or GTOs.... The Evo may prove to be valuable in the future, but it will be a while, and Mitsubishi will need to keep the fan base up by getting back into WRC and competing well - and keep kicking butt in SCCA Pro-Rally.

This probably will be the equivilant to the GSX. And the Evo9 will suck compared to the 8

I mean there are only about 4500-6000 Imorted into the US this year, so go figure. Plus with the economy so bad maybe Mitsu will not bring the Evo9 here if there is one.

Mitsubishi produce a small number for the first year and the next year they could build more.

Since the Evo 8 is in the U.S the Evo 9 will come.

Yes it will be a collectable. '64 Mustangs are collectable and they made 250K the first year alone.

Rarity vs. desirability + race history + the first of a kind. The collecting will not start up for some years yet. But a well looked after EVO with all the stock parts will be a collector.

as a general rule, the first year of a model's release is always the most valuable - but there are tons of exceptions: special models (Evo6 TME), different option pacakges (think RalliArt ed with some trim bits & higher HP or similar), factory sponsored tuner cars (FQ305, Shelby Mustang)

If he's talking about this model that we have here now I would think yes they will become collectible as there are only 4500 - 4600 for 03. However if mitsu makes a ton more and floods the market that may change.

Still you'll need 20 years for anything to proves it's value.

If Mitsubishi keeps buildng the evo which I think they will the first year model will mean nothing.

If they have engines problems the evo8 will not be worth much.
