Just another newb Question...

anyways I've been reading and it seems that you need a BC to spike to 1.5 and hold a little lower.

well I dont have anything but a flash and my stock Gauge says 1.5 bar spike and 1.3 at redline.

IS anyone else with a Flash only getting these same boost readings? and is it safe?

Also if I have a flash can the ECu still go to the low octane map on it's own if it detects knock?

Yea that's about it..And I know use the Search Button. believe me I did but at 1:20 in the morning and work comming up here in about 5 Hours I dont have to much time.

Thanks for the help.

There a few more variables that you haven't mentioned. First, which flash?? Second, did you request for a certain boost amount for the flash, and does it even offer it?? Third, only certain flashes that are on stock ECU's have various maps saved that you would be able to change to another config for lower octane, and unless you have a custom tune during the flash would it be appropriate to utilize. Good luck though..

I have a custom tune ( dynoflash) and that's how it's been since day one. I'm just wondering if that's normal because most people here seem to say that you need a MBC to even get to 1.5 bar( 21.7 psi)...And I dont have anything.

And my last question is pretty straight forward.

Lets say I'm tuned for 93 Octane..well if the ECu reads knock doesnt it pull timming or just switch to a low octane map automatiocally?

Does a flashed ECu do this aswell or just stock?. Not sure how accurate my information is, I've been told by several people it does.

I dont want to be running around with a low octane map when I'm running 93+..

If you're seeing enough knock that the ECU wants to drop to the low octane map, you want to have it available, unless you like replacing motors.
