They are currently looking for some volenteers with evos to help them develope a kit. My sister volenteered her lexus and it took about a year before the kit was finished and she will finally recieve her free intake in a few more weeks. Check the we need your vehicles page.

Well i spoke to the dude that doing the research on our car, and he said that they don't know if its going to fit our car. But my question is that if it fits the Lancer, shouldn't it fit our car He also said that it won't pass emissions, but who cares about that right now.....

Its a tight fit under the hood of this car.. their FIPK's are pretty cool, but any kit may end up being a panel filter, and a better airbox top and snorkle.. Something will come out.. After removing the stock Air box, I can see several places where you can make modifications to get fresh air.. but nothing that really wouldn't require some level of modification... and part of the key to K&N's products is its designed to be a bolt-on..

a 2g dsm fipk will fit somwhat...
bit the fiter is much larger on the dsm's it will not fit without cocking it at an angle.
get one from buschur or turbotrix that fits. same thing but cheaper and it fits properly.]

Ok, it wont get you much power, but i have seen a dyno saying ~4hp & 7ft/lbs torque

But it allows you to hear your BOV. which is nice if you like that..

When you do your exhaust you will actually get better gas mileage.. except for when you are on it.. since it will make more power it has the potential to use more gas. but in cruising it should improve a tiny bit.

K&N already makes an intake for the evo. They debuted it at the SEMA IAS show a couple weeks ago. I have a pic of it at home I can scan and post. It's called the Typhoon Intake System. Looks very good....probably expensive though since it's a brand name. I would just go with something from RMR or BR.

I got this from http://www.overboost.com/story.asp?id=1058

Mitsubishi has made several of their Lancer Evolutions available to the aftermarket, with this particular sample being granted to K&N. K&N has completed development on a high-performance intake for their EVO, and we were told that the vehicle was a bit of a challenge when compared to some others. We spoke to K&N's program manager Richard Blum, "When we put a simple piece of pipe with an air filter, the car actually lost about 15 horsepower on the dyno. Our engineers actually had to devise a system of internal buffers in the pipe in order for this system to make more power over stock. Now, we're getting 15 horse to the wheels over stock, and I've seen them go as high as 20."
