Squeaky Blues

Not only does the rear end of my brand new IX squeaks to death when I drive around, but now everytime I engage the shifter in first or second it squeaks.

Seems like when the shift knob is all the way to the left and I move it up or down it squeaks! Does anyone know how to eliminate this problem?

Any help would be great.

Catch the mouse that is annoying you? Just kidding, take it to the dealership unless Mitsu is packaging IX's with the squeek as a new feature.

Try taking the center console trim pieces out adding some grease to the shifter. I've had my IX for a year now and it never sqeaked...

My gearshift has the same squeak. It's just the shifter rubbing against the cage I belive (it's a very 'plasticy' sound). It doesn't bother me enough to take the console apart, I'll probably re-grease it whenever I have to take the console out for something else.
