Lame advertising from Mitsubishi... EVO?

I dont understand, Mitsubishi has this amazing car and they toss together this really stupid, ZERO funny factor, embarrassing advertisment for the EVO.

the Lancer Evolution Release Form. with ONE small picture of the car via detachable cardboard.

please, hold the "but its a limited car why put money and effort into blah blah blah..." a better job could have been done. i could do better than this, thats for sure.. given the neccessary recourses...

same goes for the television commercial

Maybe we can use this as a good excuse for getting the clutch replaced under warranty when we burn it out after all those 0-60 in 5.1 seconds. Or if you dump the clutch from 6k and break the trans that'll be covered under warranty too.

Hey, the advertising says you can do it , so I .....

yea it is interesting, but utlimately boring. 1/2 the people who look at magazines dont even know how to read these days. they need colorful pictures with women and beer and smokes..

would have done better with a smokin hot woman simply leaning against the evo. with a wet shirt. and her friends playing in the background

That is the same thing i was thinking,,,,, they state in there several times 0-60 in 5.1 seconds,,,,, this kinda gives you a right to make sure your car can do this,,,,,,

This might come back to bite Mits in thier asses....

After all it is on paper several times 0-60 in 5.1 seconds

This is just a little more insurance for anyone with evo warrenty problems,,,,,,, totally stock that is!!!!!!

Thanks Mits!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ill keep mine on file!!!!!!

Very funny.

I thought the ad was weak too, it barely caught my eye. In fact at first I thought it was something serious like an apology from Mitsu announcing a recall or some other BS. But, you've got to admit, they've got all the bases covered. Most people complaining about their tv ads say they're too loud and flashy, yet I see Hummer, Nissan, and now even Subaru going in the same direction ("Here comes my favorite part..." WRX ad) Now here they are with something tame and quiet.

Its cute, but the 5.1 instead of <5.0 second 0-60 is disturbing...

VI. I___(Inital Here)understand that with the LANCER EVOLUTION VIII engine's capability of going 0-60mph in just 5.1 seconds, I can now race anycar ranging from BMW M3, SLK 32 AMG, SUBARU WRX STI, HONDA S2000, CLK 55 AMG, C 32 AMG, and any other riced up cars.

Both the M3 and C32 are both sub-5 second 0-60 cars stock...

It should prove an interesting race.....

Now what a modified Evo will do is an entirely different matter

My best time stock is a 13.22 @ 106 at Cecil Cty Dragway, MD

This spring, I'm going to try some drag slicks and see if I can't do a little better as my 60' times suck!

I'm thinking about picking up a STI or Evo to play with.....I love the Evo look and the handling sounds sublime! I miss having a stick, but the speedshift is pretty good for an auto!

yes yes nice observation there kermit, im glad you caught that.. takes one to know one buddy

but considering i had to read the actual content to form an opinion in the first place, id say im an exception to my own rule.

but uh, yea

oh and are you saying beautiful wet shirt clad women would NOT make a better ad than "release form"?
