Just curious but what kind of rate did they give on the loan for the evo? Sounds to me that you can't afford the evo at this point.
I don't trust any of the local shops around here. I don't know that the rate was. I can afford up to a $700/mo. payment. I can do more, I just don't want to go any higher than that.

I was actually looking for an '04 but couldn't find one within 150 miles of me.
That and I don't want to buy one with that high of miles.

I thought about that for about half a second. I don't like the fact of not having power windows, among other things.

Update: I sent in my mom's credit app. I won't here anything until tommorrow. If I absolutely have to, I can come up with about $3500 down. I was trying to get by without it. And yes, I have my heart set on this Evo.

Find out the particulars before you sign anything don’t let them push you around and they will try. Don't be one of the guys on this board crying about how the dealer screwed you. The worst place to get your financing on a used car is from the dealer. I bought my Evo a little over a year ago and got a rate of 3.990% from my credit union. I know the rates have gone up but you have to get the best rate you can.

So, should I just try to get preapproved from a credit union then? For $30,000.
I don't really understand how that would work with me still oweing on my OZ.

Alright boys and girls. I picked up the Evo today. $6500 trade-in for the OZ and I financed $30800. 9.9% at 66mos. w/ Gap Insurance comes out to

$620/mo.
$209/mo. for insurance through State Farm.

I absolutely love the car. From looking at it, I see that it has a TurboSmart manual boost controller. I think it has an aftermarket BOV. Is there a BOV from ARP? I didn't look in the airbox to see if there is a drop-in, but I will tomorrow. I'll also post some pics tomorrow or Wednesday.

It sucks though cause I'm on-call until Thursday night. So, I had to drop off my car at work and I'm struck driving my work truck until then. But, I had some fun with it today.

$54714 for 5 and 1/2 years. You sure brought them to their knees.

9.9% IR is very high. Who did you finance it through? Do you or your mom have any hint of bad credit. I didnt even think TierII was that high.

I would have desperately avoided this situation. now you're way upside down on the evo and you're probably going to end up over 10k in the hole when you go to sell it in 3-4 years.

Oops, forgot this is a used car. Sucks though, because in reality, 9.9 is a pretty high rate.
