Question hks tt type 1

I lOOked and I looked some more but NO ONE and none of these threads mentions where the location of the "parking brake wire is." I may be retarded but I do "NOT" want to accidentally splice the wrong wire. I just want to make sure where its located on the evo 8. any immediate feedback would be awesome guys. Oh and sinse I can't fully read japanese ......would u guys mind tellin me how I use that lil red splice connector? thanks again peeps.

Blue with red stripe. It in a black "boot" coming from the piece that the parking brake pivots on and feeds into the connector right in front of the parking brake. On mine, it was almost completely covered with the black plastic (almost looked like it was shrink tubing, but I didn't test that theory, I just cut it away).

Just remove ur middle console and voila, its the only wire running to the Hand Brake. There are 3 screws to remove. 2 on the bottom of the inside compartment and one in the rear ash tray. I have the Type 1 installed also...............the only probblem i encountered is the 2 peices around the steering column dosent sit right. The TT harness bunches up and the teh peinces kinda pops lose. If u find a solution let me kno.

DON'T CUT! The whole purpose of the splice connector is to cleanly cut through the plastic exposing enough wire to make contact with the metal housing in the splicer. One thing is to make sure the splice connector is facing the right way! If you look at the splicer you'll notice one is a pass through and the other ends abruptly. You'll have to cut your gray wire coming from your TT or find a way to wrap up the excess wire to fit into the short side. The parking brake wire goes all the way through the connector on both sides. Look at it and think it out before trying to splice through the wires.
