400whp goal on pump gas

I'm looking to get 400+whp on 91 Oct pump gas. What is the best way to get there with avoiding alcohol injection. I want a reliable and everyday power. And I want to do this on my Evo 9 with the stock motor.

ThanX.

Your going to have to use alky or race gas, there is no other way.

there are other ways.. but its going to involve a slightly bigger turbo.. i.e. 20g.. its a bolt on for our cars, the ix's.. he didnt say anything about keeping stock turbo

not true in the LEAST. A common household 50Trim can get you these numbers. 450WHP in fact. On 91 Octane, even if you lose 30-40WHP it'll get you there. Get a 50Trim, it'll get you there with proper tuning.

No I do not mind changing the turbo. And I know I can get there and some with a GT35R. But I really don’t want to kill the spool up.

i dont own an evo YET... but from what i read the following combo should put you over or close to your goal,
arp head studs
full 3 inch turbo back(with 02 housing)helix? maybe turbo manifold, JIC, megan, any others?
intake
272 exhaust cam and gear
20g
walbro 255 fuel pump
maybe injectors
maybe better FMIC and hard piping
and a good tune
this is the setup i plan to run on my 9 when i get it, just an idea for ya

On Straight pump gas, you will make the most WHP with a 50 trim. A 35R on 91 Octane is a waste IMHO.

No, a 20g won't make 400whp on straight 91oct. His best bet is something like a 50-trim or BR3065, but it's terribly foolish to be willing to spend $5000-7000 on a big turbo upgrade just to get 400whp on 91 when you could spend way, way less and get around 400whp on the stock turbo with a $500 alky injection kit that has near instantaneous spool. Why would anyone be willing to do a big turbo upgrade but not use alky? Even with the big turbo, you're going to barely be using its potential on 91 pisstane.

My brother has a 35r turbo kit from ISP and it is just like anything else....you get used to it and adjust your driving habbits to work with it. Come on we are only talking about 400 - 500 RPM. I drove his car and it was sick. I think that I am about to go with a 35r because even though I am just getting started it will still give me alot of room to grow and you can make 600+ whp with supporting mods and meth.

I have most of the mods you have listed - the cams, injectors and the turbo. With these mods the car made 333whp and 325TQ on a dynojet. And I just added an AMS intercooler but have not dynoed the car with it.

A larger Turbo would add some powerband up top as well, even a common 50Trim could get constant boost without it falling off after 7000RPM's. I do agree that the stock turbo is VERY good, but take a ride in a 50Trim, the pump gas ease (no fear of a failing Alky injection) and a better topend. A lot of people have been getting 450WHP on pump gas and a 50Trim, that is better then stock and alky.
