Looks you had a blast, but I would have thought with all your mods that you should have been able to beat him....unless the porsche had real racing tires (true slicks).....but even then.....

anyway, the video is from a bullet cam mounted on my front bumper facing forward. it was located in the licence plate bracket so it is slightly left of center on the car. this was the first attempt at this setup, and as such, i didn't have sound hooked up. also i had nothing shielding the poor bullet cam from light glare (thus the red washout along the bottom). in bumpercam version 2, i will improve both of these features, and include the rear facing bumper cam as well (i had it working until i accidentally ripped the 9V battery plug wire in half)

the first video is me chasing a cayman S on big slicks.

and the second is me chasing Jim (silver evo 8) and john (red s2000)

enjoy and leave some feedback and opinions on how i can improve it!

thanks all!
nice camra nice vids, i think you would do beter if you didnt apex that soon but thats just my opinon, was it not a passing run or was he just fast?

Nice driving! The line you chose was near perfect. You must frequent this track often eh?

yeah, only near the end of the 3rd session did i really get the hang of the new section. i kept early apexing the first turn outside the pit lane, and then on both the hairpins i was turning in to late. it was a really fun track, i had been on the old section 6 track days, but that was my first time in the new one.

no the s2k was stock. it is john4321's car on here. i was just trying to get some video from behind his car and as such i followed him around the track until he went off beleive me, the evo would have no problems going by the s2k, but johns evo on the other hand... i'm gonna need some help once that things ready.

they were true slicks. big big tires too. and real slicks makes a HUGE difference. like for example when the spec miata passed me. i could pull 5-6 car lengths on him EVERY straight, but after the turn he could be right on my *** simply due to late braking and much much higher exit speed. same thing with the porsche. my car was faster in the straights, but he could carry so much more speed out of the turns. slicks around the 1.7 mile course are said to be worth 3 seconds or so per lap. so about 4-5 seconds/lap on the 3.1 mile course. (plus if i had some track pads, thats a good 3-4 seconds a lap too).

of all the cars in the videos cayman > my evo = jims evo > s2k

Nice job then....what racing tires do folks use on road coarses with evos? Do people use Goodyear slicks or more like BFG / Hoosiers / etc.? Thanks

i know of one evo that used hoosier slicks. but most people i know run toyo RA-1's. i'll be getting a set along with some new wheels as soon as i gather up some cash. the khumo exsta MX's aren't cutting it. i have gotten chunking on the loaded tire the last two times i have gone out. i don't want to replace any more tires like that.
