No problem's with mine, but i only have 6000 on my IX.I think it mostly has to do with your driving style or how much you beat on your car.Just like any other car it's all in how your take care of it.

i haven't had high gear grinding issues but i'm pretty bummed out because after my second time at the track with my IX MR my clutch started to feel funny. Only when the car is on you can feel a slight vibration/bumpy feeling when you let the clutch out in neutral and when its in gear. It does it worse when I first start the car. I take very good car of my car and I don't slip the clutch at all during daily driving. I've only slipped the clutch once at the track and every other time i just ease it out without really dropping it or slipping it. I asked a few guys and they thought that maybe my clutch is just heat glazed or i somehow damaged one of the little springs. Do any of you guys know what this problem could be? any help would be appreciated thanks

Ive never had grinding issues at all with my 03gsr and I have over 80k on it. I think it is due to driver.

No gear noise at all.

Clutch chatter yes a little bit. ^^Probably glazed it. Its a mild form of chatter. It *might * feel smoother over time, if you take it easy on it. My 05 MR feels same. Worse on cold startup, goes almost away after 10-15 mile drive. I try to ease it out slowly now.

My friend had (sold) a IX MR red like yours. He went with me to a road track and afterwards his clutch felt a little softer and did not seem to have the same grab. He didnt seem to have any problems afterwards. I would call it like any clutch for the evo, please upgrade it. I have had the HKS double plate (which was not needed for the horsepower running). I now have the ACT clutch. That clutch is proving to be great!

If you are referring to the jumpy feeling when you let out your clutch while going slow...then that is normal. My car is real tempermental about that. If my car is colder, it tends to be a little hoppy at slow speeds leaving my house. You just have to find that fine balance between gas and clutch while taking off. Hope that helps!

You gotta' use the clutch, man. If you're usin' the clutch, then, less grinding. Give that a shot, and tell me what ya' think.

The 6 speeds have major issues with 4th gear going out (I'm guess its the synchro), where the 5 speed is much stronger but does have problems with the 5th gear synchronizer (at least in 03 they did).

So the 4th gear synchro is a big problem in the 6-spds AND the 5th gear synchro sucks in the 5-spds?

Goodness. That sucks.
