Turbo Upgrades

So what's up with this web site. I found it using yahoo. Has anyone else seen this? Looks like a decent site.

Wait don't all turbos made for this engine work on our cars? You would need intercooler upgrade for sure plus other work.

No, I believe the turbine spins the reverse direction from normal so a turbo kit designed specifically for this car is necessary (I'm 98% sure).

But at 550 hp, wouldnt you need a new bottom end? and ECU? It seems too much for too cheap. There has to be some hidden costs. I know the 4g63 engine is almost bullet proof, but were talking double the HP here!

Take into consideration.....

Check out the HKS Evo for some idea of a mod list.

This is from Super Street online and Speed Options but you get the idea.

If you notice the dyno sheet.. It made about three hundred something horsepower.. They are rating the turbo upgrade as a MAX gain.. Not what your going to get.. You will certainly have to shim the head to reduce compression slightly, and do some bottom end work at the least.. if you want to go to 550hp, your talking about Cams. Fuel injector upgrades, Fuel pump upgrade, ECU upgrades (Aftermarket ECU likely), etc...

The turbo and manifold are just rated at 550hp.. I guess that is what the calculated HP Is based on the maximum (useful) boost that this turbo/manifold setup can provide..

However did you notice that it was a 100+ gain over their baseline.. Though I'm uncertain what their baseline was (if it was stock, or had other modifications prior)
