heat wrapped exhaust manifold
They crack due to the different heat up/cool down rates. The thin tubes heat/cool much faster than the thick flanges. So, it may aid the problem. Who knows, I'm no engineer.
Orielly auto parts sales it..
Most local auto stores don't sell header wrap but you may get lucky
We have it available in the brown color shown or in black.

FROM 2006?! Anyway... Not apples to apples, but F1 teams are using it, and obviously a lot more people prior to that picture. I was looking at a few pulls from a dyno the other day, and noticed how the run was fairly flat prior to the manifold getting hot. It's like the heat was being sucked out of the pulses and could create the pressure to spool the turbo. This seems like a great way to keep consistent power.
but i haven't got around to wrapping it… I've read some terrible stuff about them…
and these wraps especially prey on tubular manifolds…
its the heat that cracks it… not cooling down nor moisture.
I wrapped the Stainless steel down pipe with this stuff and i pulled it off before i even used it… it just isn't good for Stainless steel… cast would be slightly better.
and this stuff can make you very very itchy.
Better off with a Thermal coating…
