I remember taking bolts off my cat when i installed a downpipe. Don't remember it having studs..

When i get home i'll look at my old downpipe if you haven't been helped.

I remember there being studs on the cat to connect to the cat-back. Can't help you with the downpipe since I didn't separate the two when I installed my TBE.

The side with the the two bolt are for the catback. The threaded side of the cat goes to the DP. Thats what I seeing on my Evo9. Hope this help.

Due to the orientation of the flanges, it can only be installed correctly one way--studs mating w/ the IP and the bolts connecting it to the DP.
