Mitsu dealer not letting me test drive?
They had a 8 MR for test drives at the dealer I went to. They asked me if I wanted to drive it and I declined. I wanted a IX and I already knew what I was getting.
I picked it up the next day.

when i bought mine i didnt gett to drive it, until after they knew i was buying it. I went to the dealer told them i want that car, they started the paperwork and i left in my car that day lol. the dealer i bought mine from on the mainland did not let people test drive evo's, i am glad, because every tom dick and harry tries to go just rip the **** out of them for the hell of it.
I would buy an evo elsewhere...and tell them that you paid $4500 more than what they were offering...(make them think they lost ALOT of commish!!) Then offer them a big bowl of go "F&*# yourselves" and side of "KI## my A**" FWIW :-) I hate car salesmen more than lawyers!

he/she'll probably come here posting about some problem with the car after a few thousand miles or something.
if everyone has this mentality we'd all be driving beat up Evo's without proper break-in's (now i know the controversy around this issue...but honestly if u were ok with this break-in issue u would have just gotten the car u test drove the living **** out of)
dons flame suit in advance i guess.
well, maybe I got luckly, I got to drive STI and EVO at the same day when I make trip to the dealership.... I loved both cars, but I didn't have ANY luck about the $$$$. so I bought G35 coupe, one year later, I FINALLY got my evo 9 MR, and I love it very much!!
I think it is the BEST joyful drive you can have for under $40k...

Do not buy a car you haven't driven, especially an Evo. It's very different from other cars, and they're not all good differences.
My wife and I had zero trouble getting test drives, but I suppose a married couple looks good to a salesperson, especially when the car's for her!

He said they have some gay rule about only sales ppl can drive it off the lot, but once out the road it was another storry.

You didnt happen to go to Tom Masano Mitsubishi in Reading Pennsylvania did you? They are extremely **** there and treated me the same way when I was looking last year. However, I went to Diambrosio Mitsubishi in Downinging town and they had no problem at all letting me drive it off the lot. I ended up picking up a GG 06 SE last night because they treated me right!
check this out
My dealer sells Mitsu and Chevy. I bought an '00 Vette from him AND an '03 Z06. When I wanted to check out the Evo, he threw me the keys from his desk and said "take her for a spin, and bring her back in about fifteen minutes".
I went by myself. The other mitsu salesmen were freaking out and I heard one say "are you crazy? you're letting him take an Evo out by himself?" He says "Bro, he's bought two cars from me in the last 3 years ....you're acting like this is a Lamborghini Diablo. It's a $30k Mitsubishi....I think he'll be ok."

When my son and I went to test drive the MR's, they even let him drive
And he didn't even bring his licence with, we thought never in a million years would they let us.
I guess it just matters what dealership you go to?

most mitsudealers are jerks...the managers think everyone is out for a joy ride...i ordered my car from southcoast - never even saw it...of course upon delivery in sacramento it had 33 miles on it...the dealer dude - Mark -drove it to the transport terminal personally...u really do not have to drive it if it is new. my friend in tulsa went to test this new 2003 on the lot in 2005 (tulsa is not a big market for this kind of machine i guess)- he said the guy let him drive it - and told him to 'get on it, if u wont to (actually pronounced 'want to' - but apparently that is midwest regional dialect). that car only had 63 miles on it. he did buy it for $24K before taxes - cool deal if u aks me.
so i say drive a friend's car if u want a taste of EVO if ur local dealer dudes r jerking u around. have u tried wearing a suit and tie?...............j/k!
or take a briefcase full of dolla's like in the movies...

when i went to test drive one, on my own they told me NO. when i came with pops because that day we were going to buy they said lets take it for a test drive. guess thats the way they work. in their minds younger people mean coming in = No sale, if your above the age of 40 they run to you like vultures.
Yonkers mitsubishi told me that i had to leave a 5000 dollar deposit...
i started a thread on it... i would just buy from south coast and have it trucked to you... even with the trucking it would come out cheaper than buying it locally...

I did not test drive my MR before I bought it, but whatever. I love it to death. I am glad they dont allow test drives, i would not be happy if someone was beating on my car before i bought it. So when I got mine, it had 5 miles on it, untouched
