Need Help on a Turbo....

Well im going to oder a turbo in the next day or so.....Problem is I cant make up my mind on which one......

I might go with the Shearer Turbo groupbuy.....
Im eyeballing PeakBoost's Top Mount Kit cause of the price
And I love AMS but its a little more, and Shearer seems to be the same Quality.....

Id like to know everyone else's opionions and which to get, and also what are your guys 35r turbos spooling at? Should I go with a 50trim for earlier spool or is a 35r spool fine? Im also going to be running Meth Injection.

Thanks, Zach

You sound like a kid in a candy store.

Those are a lot loaded questions.

Do you know your goals with the car besides running meth ?

Do you understand the implications, shortcomings, spool
characterisitics of the various turbos and configurations?

Have you started off with all the supporting mods ?

------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you answered NO to any of those questions
it would be wise to learn and understand what is involved.

This will save you alot of money and frustration.

No offence, but you really don't sound like you've done nearly the amount of research one should do before making this decision.

First, figure out what your goals are for the car.
Then, do research and find which kit/turbo meets those goals the best.

Then, and only then, place your order for the turbo kit.

Man...... I see flames surrounding you!!

You saying you want a car you can drive, means you a street user: get the Shearer or any Trim50 per say, there's nothing but good posts about it..

I've searched and learnt that the 35 is very much for specific needs, the 30 has quite a steep curve..

I'm going for the Shearer+fmic+pump'n'injectors and will be finsihing my pre-mods in a month time. It'll be quite a project for me being quite a newbie in all this... and 10,000miles away!

Ok that clearifies things a little.

From personal experience, I couldn't honestly tell you
what turbo I prefer.

However I have been doing a good amount of research lately
regarding various 50Trim, GT3071 , GT3037, GT3076 and GT35 turbos.

My research has giving me alot of facts and opinions regarding
all these different turbos.

For my money and goals, I have narrowed it down to the
Vishu Stage Two GT3037 or ATP GT3071 or GT3076.
( Leaning more towards the Vishnu Kit )

My goals are about 400 to 450 awhp depending on the fuel and tune.

My main Criteria is a steath setup. Plus the best possible spool
without falling off up top, stock internals, stock MAF, no speed density,
no GM MAF or stand alone.

If I lived in a state where emissions are not a factor, I would cut
the B.S. and go with a much more agressive setup i.e. AMS GT35.
( The AMS GT35 becomes a completely different story )

a gt35r is NOT your best street option...a 50 trim with meth and supporting mods would be a street animal with a beautiful power curve

You need to experience terrible lag first hand to figure out what you can live with.

Try putting the car in 3rd at 1500rpms and flooring it so you can get an idea what a gt35 is going to spool like. On a personal level i'm for taking the stock turbo as far as i possibly can before upping the turbine.

After all if you can make a stock turbo do 11's just imagine what will happen if you put the next level of turbo on it?
