Just because its "made in japan" doesnt mean its quality. OEM ballast/bulbss like I mentioned above will outlast any aftermarket ballast/bulbs

i don't know much about HIDs i have 05 evo with stock hids but i'd like to make them a little bit mor purple so do i need to buy a new ballast or just a diffrent light bulb like 10k??

dont go above 6k, please dont destroy perfectly good OEM hids by putting crap tastic 10k bulbs in there

what do you guys think of yellow hids like 3k i like them but i don't know if i want my car to look like almost every civic around here

use them on your fog. better yet use them on the high beam, because when you try to flash someone with you high beam they will be like what the xxxx.

yeah..3k is for fogs. You dont want em as a high beam either, flashing HIDs on and off is a no no

as for your question, yes, its just the bulb. no need to change the ballast if you stick with D2S bulbs

Also if you have HIDs in the fogs, make sure you turn them off when you know you have to repeatedly flash some douche that won't move in front of you. When your highs go on, your fogs go off so you'll basically be flashing your fogs along with your highs. That'll kill you ballast very quickly.
