bad luck w/evo
bad luck w/evo
ive had my car for a little over a year now and all ive had is bad luck.fifth gear syncro went out and i hadnt even had it a month. shortly after second gear went out and my transmission was installed improperly. my warrenty was supposed to be voided but since i work there they went ahead and did it. so since they did me a favor they act like i am in the wrong because i told them it wasnt right. so i bought a tre stage 2 transmission clutch and flywheel.right after i broke it all in i raced this mustang didnt even launch it hard and went to slow down and clutch pedal was hard as a rock. throw out bearing broke, faulty part and guess who gets to pay for it.
anybody else have luck like this?
injen intake kit
forge recic bov
bushur 3" tbe w/test pipe
apexi afc2 and ebc
coolingmist methanol
comp 280 cams
fidanza cam gears
greddy 720 injectors
255 fuel pump
crower valve springs
arp head studs
tre stage 2 tranny
spec stage 3 clutch and flywheel

Not that many problems but the fifth gear on my ix seems to be going out...I have to shift super slow or double clutch for it not to grind. Im going to take it to the dealership this weekend...
yes. wow, dude your head going next
when hurricane rita came to houston i drove 14 hours to dallas (normally 4 hour drive)
anyhow somehow out of all that my 5th syncro went out. mitsu fixed it for me
raced a mustang and pretty much killed my clutch, then raced an rsx-s later and killedi t more (the rsx had a supercharger and nos, just so you guys aren't thinking im wasing my gas) then my clutch officially died
put in new one. it was installed wrong. oil leaked out of my transmission and it baked it self. sent it to tre and it was installed wrong again. friend of mine fixed it before any damage was done. they bent the passenger side axle seal and oil was leaking from it.
anyhow then my head went a month ago and got put back on 3 days ago.
so 5th > clutch > tranmission > head
you 5th > tranmission > t/o bearing
so i assume your head is next since we have the same shi* breakin haha

U cant expect a car not to break or wear out if u are beating on it. especially a high HP car. I guess alot of people who buy EVOs have never had a performance car before and dont know that maintence and breaking parts are part of having power. The 5th gear syncro might not be but for the most part breaking parts is part of having a car that is fast or raced.
Not exactly like your story, but I've had some bad luck lately...
Someone broke into my car last Wednesday night. They smashed my drivers side window and destroyed the dash and hvac controls, but didn't take anything but a stupid mag-lite. I spent all Thursday waiting for the glass guy to show up. Then, Monday I took it to the body shop to get fixed...in that time they broke my exhaust off the hangers to where it was hanging and then backed it into a curb and bent the exhaust tip, then I went to pick it up yesterday because they said it was done and I get there and it won't start...it just cranks over and will not fire. Now they have to tow it to a Mitsu dealer to see why it won't start.
