Does remote start work with immobilizer?
I just bought a remote starter and I just realized I had an immobilizer. duh.
Is this going to pose and issue? Is there a workaround I'm going to have to do when I install?

about the box, do you mean you have to keep a spare key somewhere next to the ignition somewhere or is it a box that replicates the signal from the chip in the key?
I'ts an immobilizer bypass box. Check ebay for some of those..
Basically it connects to the autostart/alarm and you put your spare key in it so you can bypass that feature and be able to autostart your car.
I'd suggest buying an extra key, have it reprogram for your evo and then grind the teeth down so no one can use it, just in case.

The only thing is that the immobilizer box is an interface and does not by any means bypass the immobilizer. All the box does is send the signal upson remote starting your vehicle to the key cylinder via a series of copper wire strands that are looped around your key cylinder and thus providing the ecu with the correct code to start the car..
DEI makes a great piece and is reasonably priced...DEI 556UW is the model number..any of your local circuit city stores will have this item in stock...
