I keep trying to search but something is screwy with the search today. I have a 2006 Evo and my Gauge Cluster says "Lancer" on the left. My buddy has a 2005 MR and his says "Evolution" in that same spot. What years and or models are different and why? Thanks for any help provided. I just want to know why some say Lancer and some actually say Evolution(Like they all should).

 

im pretty sure none of them say evolution unless u buy an aftermarket cluster, but i could be wrong. is his cluster red and white instead of the stock amber?

 

Pretty sure is Evolution for the 03/04s (I not that sure)

My 05 GSR says Lancer

Sounds like the MRs got the Evolution too.

 

My 'o3 says LANCER. I always though that was stupid, the rest of the cluster is different, why would they not change that.

 

I'm pretty sure it says "Evolution" only on aftermarket gauge overlays.

My 03 has "lancer".

OK, So how do you explain this(And Yes, this is an OEM Factory 05 MR Gauge Cluster:

 

Maybe it's just the MR... I've never seen a GSR or RS say that. I'll look at one of my friends MR today.

 

My MR doesnt have that.

my MR says LANCER as well. never saw any that said evolution.

 

I think the VII had this. Maybe they bought just an overlay to replace the lancer.

 

^^The silver gauge cluster surround is not stock. Maybe they changed out the lancer when they changed the suround color
