I've already had it to 140 (closed track ofcourse ) and Nothing blew up LOL, so i'm happy. Definitely worth the money.

On a side note, thanks mynes, for fixing my CEL Light issue.
Hey Tim, thanks for the quick feedback on the oil... you know us, we are always here to take care of you guys, and we don't recommend anything unless that product has been tested on our own cars

I'm actually getting ready to set up an "Eneos Challenge Day" here in late Feb, and the mfg will send out a rep to answer any questions that you guys might have. I'm working on the details right now... will publish that once i have everything in order.

Power Gains from Enoes 0W50 on Evo 9

Hi all, just finished testing a couple of cars and wanted to post the results. It's a customer car (Evo 9 with TBE, intake and boost controller) that's been tuned.

On OEM Mobile 1 on 91 Octane pump gas:
Max whp - 280 (but for some reason, when the graph was selected, it only showed 275whp)
Max wtq - 273

We then performed an oil change (drained out the old oil and put in the Eneos 0W50), took it off the lift and drove it straight on the dyno:
First Pull, HP and Tqe remained the same (with no adjustments to anything).
Second Pull: Max HP 287 ; Max Tqe 275

Note:
1. we did not retune the car after the 0W50 was added.
2. the HP and Tqe bands at high RPM is higher.
3. boost increased by about 0.5 to 0.6 on its own

Conclusion:
This oils is bad a$$. On our Shop 9, it went from 480whp to 497whp (from Royal Purple to the 0W50); now with an Evo 9 with a lot less mods, the gains are still very impressive = 7 whp

We are getting ready to set up an Enoes Challenge Day here at the shop. Tenatively set for March 4th (Saturday)... details coming soon...

cheers.
mike

Eneos Challenge (1995 M3 results)

This is the 2nd customer we did today. Keep in mind, this is a NA motor with about 140,000 miles.

Previous oil brand: UNKNOWN (he just purchased the car).

Before the oil change: 204 WHP/ 192 WTQ (this is the highest hp from 3 pulls)

After the oil change: 205 WHP/ 195 WTQ (this is the highest hp from 3 pulls - usually the 3rd pull is the strongest)

For a NA motor, that's not a bad gain from an oil change. One can argue that a car might make more hp/tqe just from switching out the old oil with the new - perhaps... but we are simply presenting our findings with all the facts... you can draw your own conclusion.

I'm hearing the 0w50 is going to be like water come summer time. Once it heats up, should I switch to a different viscosity?

Tim, we road race with the 0W50 last Sept when it was pretty darn hot over at Firebird and PIR, and the oil held up just fine.

We are having a Eneos Challenge Day set for March 4, and the rep from Nippon Oil will be here to answer questions and divulge more on the characteristics of this oil.

cheers.

its the hsht number that tells you it will hold up to high temperatures and remain a good oil.

if I didn't have four gallons of another synthetic I'd but this stuff.

Doing a dyno run of new RP, Amsoil, Redline, etc. motor oil and then swapping that out to the Eneos and doing a dyno run would definitely make that argument moot. That would be more than enough conclusive proof and just $30 to bring even more customers to that oil.
