Okay number one, it is clear to me that itsaneswhocares's parents did not hug him enough when he was a kid.

Number two, being younger myself (19), I understand what it's like to be criticized about owning an expensive car. I pay for every penny of my car so my parents didn't help me but that isn't the point. The point is just because someone's parents buy them an expensive cars doesnt automatically mean they are as shats that are ignorant and don't have a clue how to drive. Clearly there was driver error in this accident but that does not mean anyone whose parents buy them their Evo has no clue what they are doing behind the wheel.

Glad the original poster is alive and well. Best of luck to you in the future, for everyone else just leave him alone. He posted because he knows other Evo owners are the only ones that would understand what it means to lose/wreck this car. Enough said.

I agree that just because someone's parents buys them a car doesn't automatically make them a bad driver. However, the issue at hand is age and, in many ways, gender. 16-18 year olds simply are not mature enough mentally or emotionally to handle a car like an evo. They could be the best driver in the world from a technical aspect, but they still do stupid things because of hormones, conflicting emotions, etc.. How many times a year do we get threads exactly like this? It usually involves A. rain and a person driving far too fast for the conditions, B. someone street racing or C. someone trying to impress friends or D. someone making a stupid mistake simply because of a lack of experience.
Why would only evo owners understand what it means to lose something they value? Sure us lowly lancer owners (or other car owners) don't drive vehicles as obviously magical and fantastic as the evo, but we still love our cars. If we didn't we wouldn't be on a site about modifying cars.

i agree with you about the 16-20year olds and all the posts about them crashing their cars for whatever reason. if i had money and had a 18 year old son i probably wouldnt buy him an evo but thats my choice. this kids parents did not feel the same way originally and now its their problem to deal with.

i was NOT knocking the lancer, or saying that your car doesn't matter because its not an evo, or that you dont love it, i was simply talking about the fact that the other guy went a little too far with this kid, and he made it obvious that he had a problem with this kid because he wants an evo but cant afford one and this kids parents helped him get it. i am not making it up, go back and read his posts, he didnt say "I AM JEALOUS" in those exact words but it wasnt too far off. now my problem with this guy has nothing to do with the fact that he doesnt drive an evo, it just so happens that he owns a lancer, so no need to get upset with me because i mentioned "lancer" in my post

btw this quote is what made me say what i think
"this kid is lucky and maybe its somebody telling him, he needs to go another direction in life rather than having his parents buy him a car that alot of guys who have families and work for a living wish they could have.

live and learn "yes" but some of us dont have mommy and daddy to bail us out"

haha what another 19 year old whos parents bought him an evo is trying to say i wasnt hugged as a child?

yes man nothing was handed to me, i feel proud to work and pay for my own car and pay for my own insurance while paying rent and feeding myself.

who's says i can't afford an evo? what just because i don't own one means i can't afford it? i don't have no reason to be jealous of this mans car, i mean i don't put a piece of metal in front of my family

when you move out of your mommas house and quit using your parents credit you can get back at me.

what am i not allowed in the evo section all of a sudden? what is in front of evolution on your car or did you forget your roots boy?

True /\
Also a lot of people buying the evo after reading how great of a handling car it is, and how it’s beating lambos and Ferraris on the tracks. it gives them a false sense of security. They think the car is invincible.
Just because it beats lambos an Ferraris, it doesn’t mean you can take a 15mph turn at 90.

well then quit with all the jealousy nonsense, i mean saying i wasnt hugged as a child because my parents didnt buy me an evo is ridiclious

i do nothing but compliment the evo as a car and it's my goal to own one very soon, but i wasn't into cars as much as i am now when i first bought my lancer or else i would do it all over again, but with a baby on the way ...i have my prioritys

Yeah I agree the jealousy thing is a little lame, and for whatever reason it seems to be the standard response to everything and anything. Those 20" chrome rims look horrible, oh you're just jealous, 16 year olds shouldn't own an evo, oh you're just jealous, I don't like to have sex with other men, oh you're just jealous, etc..

haha this kid was born in 1989. Your like 17 years old driving a 300hp car. Your parents are stupid for helping you buy that car. You know how many i totalled my evo threads there are from kids with dumb parents liek you who dont look into what they do for there kid. Know how many dead kids there are from spoiled kids like you? Alot!!! Your lucky your not dead! You are too young for an evo, and dont get a WRX cause people like you will make my insurance sky rocket.

Like I said I am currently paying for my evo...every single penny...45 hours a week and work and full time college student...believe it or not my dude...and btw there is no Mitsubishi logo on the exterior of my car haha so from a visual stand point I guess my roots are missing OWNED...and obviously I'd rather live at home and have home cooked meals than pay ridiculous amounts to rent in the state of New Jersey...that's not (not being grown up) that's just being smart
