weird problem

Hey guys the last two days i have went out and started my car i let the gas gauge go up to where its suppose to before i start it everytime. Well when i go to crank it over the gas gauge goes to empty then back up. Normally when i start my car the gauge stays where its at before i start the car. Does anyone have any info on this? thanks in advance

Matt

Well were you almost empty? usually mine reads lower on cold start then resumes to where it was once i drive it around. I'm sure there is a better explanation for this.
