There are a lot of great sports cars out there. I would recommend selling the Evo, and getting something cheaper and continue to save up for your own place

Keep the evo!

Try eliminating all the extraneous expenses in your spending......and a part time job will help. I am actually gettring a part time job myself sinc e my current job is only 30 hrs a week. Good Luck!

I'm in a similar boat as you except I don't have an evo yet and my 45k a year job is coming to me shortly.... I'd pay off the evo as fast as u could...This will probably be the only sporty car you'd have for sometime. Your 23, and sure owning your own place would be amazing but, your still young and for all we know we live once on earth. It's ok if u live with ur parents for a bit longer...I'm sure they don't mind it deep down.

To me it's a short menu.

Sell the Evo and wait until you are more financially ( first buy a house ) secure to go buy a 35k car.

Or you get a part time job and work harder for what you want in life.

Good luck

think if you keep it long enough,

your 4th gear might go out.
youll continue to get ricers trying to race you.
you get unbelievable maintence prices.
gas prices
insurance prices

last but not least, keep it long enough and....

your crank might walk.
sell the terd!

You definitely have your head on straight. Sell it and wait.

Don't listen to all the people that suggest you make your life a living hell just for a car. They will always be the ones in financial strain just so they can say they have "xxxxx" car.

to clarify and/or answer questions:

1. I have no trouble affording the EVO now, but its hard to save up any REAL money with 1000 bucks a month, and 300 rent and food and **** weighing me down.

2. Yes, the car IS for sale!

3. i pay 240 a month for my car insurance, 583 for car, gas, etc, thats how the 1000 breaks up

4. i cant stay home long enough to pay off the evo, i have 4.2 years left. And only a year or 2 at the house.

5. i work 40 hours a week right now and after all the rediculous tax i pay here in mass, where i work, i only take home about 2500-2800 a month, unless i work overtime.

i made this thread to get ideas and opinions and i appreciate them all, thank you!
even if i sell the evo, ill be back

I had to sell my first evo when i moved out and bought a house, at the time there was no way i could afford a house and the evo. Well about 1.5years later i was more financially secure and went out and bought a used evo. I bought it used so i could have money to mod it. Things are good now.

glad to see someone who is thinking straight

i dont know if i could give up the evo if i already was paying for it, but if it's not your dream car and you plan on selling it one day then get rid of it and make alot of babies, sit at home at your new house and enjoy the simpsons at 8pm baby

If you going to have no savings at the end of the month, don't do it. The evo will cost alot of money if something goes wrong. You will always needs money for a rainy day. Get the apartment now and buy something cheap and reliable.

Just sell the car dude. $30k car loan on $45k/year income was a mistake. Live and learn.

instant noodle is the cure. :-) JK! Try to cut back on expenses like eat out less often, change your own oil, drive the car a little less, work a little more... those little things will add up and may save you enough to not have to sell the evo.

there's really no need to save money to buy a house...i mean you are going to have to save a lot for it to make any difference...i didn't put any money down on my house...i just financed the whole thing and the seller paid the closing costs...no big deal.....your insurance seems ridiculously high...your paying twice as much as me...maybe you should switch companies...do you have a lot of tickets or something
