If you disagree with a recommendation then offer alternatives but leave out the side bar discussions. Warrtalon's tag (Sponsored by Evom Vendors) was put there to ensure members know he is sponsored, that his advise could be biased and to consider his recommendations carefully. Your hijacking of this thread to make a PSA is not helpful.

Keep on topic or your comments will be removed. Thanks.

You won't need to upgrade the valvetrain, but you will need to get retuned, yes.

that is a rather short sighted statement. Several Megan Racing parts are very high quality. I am VERY happy with my Megan Racing turboback.

Just because something is expensive or has a well known brand name attached to it doesn't make it good. HKS makes alot of garbage products (their WRX downpipe was attrocious). Look at stuff like HRE wheels ($$$ but banned from motorsports because they suck.)

How about start porting and ceramic coating your stock parts, you'll have a smooth daily driver and a stealthy oem hotness look

Works makes an upgrade to the valvetrain and recommends the upgrade with their IX cams. However, this is if you plan on taking your rpm's past 8000

He isn't getting the Cosworth cams that Works sells - he has no need for a valvetrain upgrade.

Ducu, get the cams straight from GSC and the LICP from Buschur. Order them before you leave, then have them shipped to where you'll be in NY or LV, if that's possible.

I have unfortunately installed four Megan turbo back exhausts in the past. Each has had issues such as; chunks taken out of the thin stainless steel walls where the hangers attach, riveted on tail pipes falling off on the highway, failing welds on the down pipe to o2 housing flanges, and the stamped steel mufflers just randomly sprouting leaks all over the place. Give it time. I state this informatin not to offend those who have made investments in Megan products but to warn of the extraordinary examples of a consistently poorly manufactured brand name. Believe me I could care less about brand names but I will be the first to bring up a specific brand if it's quality is under par. I have been down the budget mod road in the past and have had to spend some time in money righting those modifications that I went against my own better judgement.

This is an excellent option that can yield wonderful results without sacrificing oem build quality/reliability and fitment

Nothing is free from evolution, just as the car's own name we drive. 16 years of evolving this motor, curing one by one the issues presented over the years from crankwalk to broken trannies, 3 bolt axles and differentials.

Megan I would venture to say OVER A YEAR AGO evolved the hangars with extra bracing and hanger design changes. The newest version uses no hardware at all on the catback and is the best design yet.

Lets not pretend that old designs are reasons to complain today. Rarely does any company get it perfect the first time. I will not name the some of the biggest vendors own products on this forum that have had fitment issues in the past. The important part is that any issues are recognized and addressed. I believe Megan has done a great job to address any issues that have crept up in old designs.
