I too have the same code and it never stays gone for long. I'm recircing with a Greddy RS. Check you fuel cap, vacuum hoses and CRC canister (it's under the left rear between the bumper and wheel) Make sure all those hoses are connected.

Why don't you put the stock bypass valve back on? Who cares about the sound if it does nothing?

Calling him out because of his choice of BOV does not help the situation.

Did you get the CEL after you installed the BOV or is this something that just came up out of the blue? A bad tank of gas can cause this code also...

That engine code i've found is often associated with a vacuum leak somewhere around the manifold. Like said before, check all your vacuum lines to see if there's anything abnormal.

I did not call him out. I merely presented a plausible answer to his question and then offered my opinion. I apologize if I hurt your feelings.

How did you present a plausible answer without verifying the facts? You then stated a subjective opinion by saying "who cares about sound..." Perhaps he does, who are you to judge?

You didn't hurt my feelings, but you sure didn't help him at all by your statement.

Then I doubt the HKS is the cause. Check for any loose or disconnected vacuum hoses, make sure your gas cap is on tight and clear the code. Fill up your gas with a different brand and see what happens.

You're right. I will succumb and go put a bunch of stickers on my car.
