Most will say OEM. I use the K&N and if they don't have that in stock, I use the Mobil1.

I use the Mobil 1 filter to go with the Mobil 1 oil. But most people will probably say go with the oem. I guess it's a matter of personal preference really.

What ever your dipstick says after you've started your car after the oil change.

I actually like to fill up my filter with oil before I put it on. BTW, I have OCD.

Damn, me too. Kinda nice knowing I'm not the only one THAT meticulous when it comes to just changing the oil.

About the proper amount of oil....like revvin said, just fill it until your dipstick reads full. I think the manual calls for 5.1 if you add up all the capacities (crankcase, filter, and oil cooler) but I don't think my evo has ever taken more than 4.5. This is most likely due to a little bit of oil being left over in the oil cooler, not for sure though.

the oem one is very good because it has that release valve. However, any filter with the release valve is good. The k&n have it and I think the fram extra gaurds have them. However, whatever one you chose it is imperative that you get one with the release valve.

I use Pure One in all my cars and have yet to have a problem. I've been thinking about switching back to OEM though. I don't use anthing but Mobil 1 as far as oil goes.
