Have you driven with 272's or 280's?

I have narrowed my search down to only a few cams. I plan on buying comp 272's or 280's. My car is primarily street driven. Has anyone driven with both sets or even a 272 280 combo and can tell me what they feel as the difference between the two setups.

I have the Comp 272s in my car and the rest of my mods are in my sig. I havent dyned yet and they seem to be great all around. I dont have 280s and havent been in a car with them but I will say that the 272s even with a Reflash for them do Idle a lil rough but that means nothing to me. Im happy with my 272s.

My own Helix 272's idle almost like stock to me. My friend has the revolver ones (equivalent to 280's)... waaaaaaay too rough. Actually, almost all 280's are way too rough for me to be stuck in good 'ol bumper to bumper traffic, I've seen a few evo's with 280's.

I can vouch for GSC 272's, they idle great and give a nice increase in power.

Im not to worried about the idle cause i have a beater for those nice long drives in traffic but as far as hp and tq i was wondering how much difference is there between the two. from what i hear the 280's wont make much more tq and the 264 wont make much more hp so i decided not to get 264's cause i want more top end.

I don't know if there is much of a difference between the comp and the hks cams. I have HKS 280's and the idle is a little rough with a/c on, but tolerable. I had my car tuned by turbotrix and and they said the 280 were worth about 15 hp over the 272's on the top end.

I had the HKS 272's on both my Red and Black Evo VIII's and with cam gears they idled like stock. It was sweet sweet power with no drawback

Don't have cam's in my IX yet, but I will probably consider a 272 profile on it as well if available.

HKS 272s, idle very well. I can't talk to the 280s.

i've driven on FP2's, web cams, crowers, comp cams, hks cams. they're all fine as long as you set your car up properly and make needed adjustments.

I have HKS 272's and they idled a little rough until Big Al tuned.......now it idles like more like stock......love the top end power but I miss the lopey idle before the tune
BTW, never had a problem idling in traffic
