November 11th Weekend at the Gap

Finished a more thorough trailer for this past weekend festivities (Deal's Gap trip). It's still a rough draft (as I noticed several areas of improvement), and there is plenty more to come (over 10gigs left to edit)...but I've run out of daylight and need to get to bed.

With the rain, I think "When the levee breaks" was appropriate...

Have a gander:

Very nice.
It's such a shame that it rained.
I'm definitely planning to check the Gap next year.
Still debating whether it's gonna be with evo or my gsxr.

Hotrod,
How ya doing,
That was a blast even in the rain, I still can't beleive how well my car did in the rain with it set on the gravel mode, insane! Friday was the day, 81 & sunny! Those guys on the bikes were amazed, the one guy said he was going to pull over and let me pass him. I've never had so much fun driving my car, ever! Road course can't even begin to compare!

sti2evo9mr,
If you own an Evo, don't even think about any other car, there's NO comparison, the AWD will destroy any RWD or FWD car on that road, especially when it's wet!

There should be some video of me chasing the bikes soon.

I had a great time, enjoyed meeting everyone there. Spring time seems too far away. I'll ask Daryll (killboy) when the next best time is.

Sarge,
I agree - insane amount of fun - even in the wet. I was just talking to my Pop about how well the car did in the rain. I've never taken the EVO to the Gap, nor have I really pushed any boundaries in wet conditions. Obviously, I started off easy - but found the more I pushed the car, the more the car responded. At the end, I estimate I was driving the car upwards of 75%...totally amazing experience. The teaser video - definitely everyone was saying "@%#!, all the cars should have pulled out like the Sarge!"...Great stuff.

Back in the day when I was going to Maryville College - I'd take the Fiero up there once every month or so. It was all setup for SCCA too and was a blast - but nothing nearly as fun as the EVO.

It was also great meeting you - I like your style. And thanks for organizing the event...rain or sun, it was a huge success. I couldn't believe how many EVOs showed up. In Greenville, I see one maybe 2-3 times a year as they seem rare here. Can't wait till next time.

I'll be working on a little more vid tonight.
