Another horrible dealership experience.

Little note for everyone in the Reno area. Allison Mitsubishi has a new service manager, and he is the worst service manager that I have ever dealt with at any dealership. There will be no coverage on any modified vehicle what so ever, they may even void your warranty on site.

DO NOT GET SERVICE DONE AT ALLISON MITSUBISHI

DO NOT PURCHASE ANY VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP

STAY AWAY.

I use to be a big fan of them, now I'd tell you to go anywhere else.

Sheesh. It sounds like they need some basic education in the nature of federal law, which allows a warranty disclaimer only for those problems that were actually CAUSED BY a specific modification. There is no lawful means to simply "void" a warranty on the entire car.

Maybe a nice lawsuit would be educational.

Without much to go on, seems like you have a laundry list of mods to the car. And just let me guess, they denied a warranty claim?? Well, you modded the crap out of the car and now expect them to fix something that probably wasn't broke till you tinkered with it? I don't know, I'm just saying based on what you put out that there is more to the story. Please, do tell. I always like to add a dealership to the 'black list' when they earn it.

Oh, I'm glad you asked. I do have a laundry list of mods, but none that would effect the IAC. My idle was acting funky, rising to 2k then falling to 900, back and forth. With a little research on the search on the search function. It was obvious that the IAC motor was messed up. I took it in. Told them what the problem was. They confirmed that that was indeed the problem. Called the Mitsu rep he ok'ed the work "as long as no modifications to the IAC or other mods affected IAC". They in no way showed me that any mod affected the IAC motor.

Im moving out to Reno in May/June and im glad you brought that up. If it was me id fight it tooth and nail. There is no way your mods could have effected the IAC unless you somehow fooled with the wiring and that messed it up which i know didnt happen. Just saying. Find the warranty/mod law and bring that to them and throw it in their face! Are there any other mitsu dealerships in Reno BTW?

Not to be a dick but could they say? ALKY....

I dont know if alky/methanol could cause a IAC to go bad but its possible i suppose.

I don't think they even know what the alky kit is. I guess they could say that, but according to law they have burdon of proof.

tipperfx3, sorry no other dealerships in Reno.

I live in Reno, and knew Allison was horrible when I tired to buy an Evo from them.

When I told them about how far off they were to the South Coast price they pretty much laughed in my face cause they knew they were the only game in town. There's a lot more to this story but I don't feel like typing it all.

I'm gald I never had to go back to buy an evo from them.

I erember some other guy on here trying to buy from them obviously ended up buying from somewhere else also.

I think I saw a used 04 on their lot for $30k. awesome.

That retarded! And anyone who pays 30k for USED evo is retarded... Unless its highly modified and low mileage. Why do that when you can head over to Sacramento or the bay area and probably get a much better deal. Or like you said just call up South Coast.
