For all the Dealership Threads....
What i dont understand is person can spends thousands upon thousands to modify their fairly new vehicle and wonder why the dealership question to warranty parts. I mean really come on... If you owned a dealership and you were looking into fair business but also into whats best for your dealership and the manufacture as a whole then what would you do. They see vehicles that the owners tear the living hell out of the drivetrain and the tires are squarched all the way up the sidewall and they are asked to warranty the clutch.
I never even tried to warranty a damn part or labor. WHY? Cause i know i drive the hell out of my car and i know it would be wrong to ask anyone to fix the crap i broke. Second, because i wouldnt let anyone else work on my car.. Especailly the dealership.

I will go with this 100%, with a caveat......The dealer also must cover their product 110%, even if they cover something questionable, they MUST take care of the customer or the customer will never return.
i don't have any problems w/ my dealership. i have alot of mods and they still replaced my synchros. i may have drove it hard, but this car is supposed to be driven hard. and mitsubishi knew people were gonna drive the **** out of it before they even sold it.

and i agree if thats how they operated but they dont... do you really think adding an intake or exhaust to your car caused your clutch to go out at 3500 miles ? they tie in everything to 1 mod... oh whats that... your sunroof isnt opening ? well you have an aftermarket stereo which makes the subwoofer vibrate the car more then recommended and made your sunroof fail, you are paying for it.... they are that stupid. i have a claim now with them bastards about my car because when i had them mount and balance my new tires, they put some small scratches on my caliper and all my rims where the old weights were are now nicked to hell... they are giving me **** because i want the rims repaired and my caliper replaced because it has started to peel now. they accused me of doing the damage.... here is the great part. i get home the day it was done, wash my car and notice all of this... i call the dealership to inform them and the guy says yeah we know, we saw that when we took them off. but they never bothered to tell me, they wanted to wait until i noticed. that is BS.

I agree to a point. What i am mainly getting at is the ones who teak sh*t up and go to the dealer and cause a scene because they wont fix everything for free so they thow a fit and wonder why insurance prices go up and why all the dealerships start questioning every single mod.
Everyone should look into the Dealer Warranty ACT... As for what the exact name of it is and or what it states: There is an actual law for those who bought a vehicle with a factory warrany. Its actually good info to know.
The Magnusson-Moss Warranty - Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act of 1975 protects consumers from such fradulent activity by new car dealers. Under this Act, aftermarket equipment that improves performance does not void a vehicle manufacturer's orginial warranty, unless the warranty clearly states the addition of aftermarket equipment automatically voids your vehicle's warrany or if it can be proven that the aftermarket device is the direct cause of the failure. The easiest way to check this is to look in your owner's manual under, "what is not covered". Under Magnusson-Moss Act a dealer must prove, not just vocalize, that aftermarket equipment caused the need for repairs before they can deny warranty coverage. If they cannot prove such claim-or offer an explanation- it is your legal right to demand compliance with the warranty. The Federal Trade Commission (202.326.3128) administers the Magnusson-Moss Act and monitors compliance with warranty law.
