I guess they're trying to get customers to pay for those stupid commercials with the Gecko

I'm with AllState and I'm @ $1200 full coverage. Give them a try.

when they changed my rate i was looking at my policy
and i noticed under by collision part that im covered for 1500$ worth of modification and i never set that up its standard! which im pretty stoked about

I'm 24 years old moving on to 25.

My coverage with State Farm is 1200, and it's been pretty consistent. However, I don't drive my car everyday for work or school so if you think about it, it's still pretty expensive. 1 Ticket in Evo 2 years ago, no other incidents.

I have 3 cars and pay 305$ up from 264$ a month. I called GEICO they said the sole reason the premium went up was due to replacement cost on the EVO and the increase in claims in that vehicle.

I just got ESURANCE and its pretty good, I pay $102 for full coverage on my EVO and liability on my Talon. On a scale of 1-30 , the rating on the EVO is 26. 30 is highest and I believe the M3 is 30. The STI is 24 or something. Either way insurance see's that and gets excited. I have no tickets or wrecks and PEMCO was ticking me off so I said "Ok, I'm a terrible driver in my EVO, but an excellent driver in my Talon?"

I can attest that the Evo's parts are not cheap. My Evo is finishing up repairs at the body shop (first accident ever) and the total was right around $15,000 for what looked like relatively minor damage.

Either way, that's ridiculous that a 50% hike in your premium would happen.

At least Geico didn't just drop your coverage due to modifications. They sent me a letter stating they couldn't provide full coverage and would only insure me for liability. I have had them covering my Evo since I bought it almost three years ago. So of course that would mean my bank would force their own full coverage on me unless I had another carrier. I had been with Geico for over 11 years. I had their preffered members discount, military discount, and some other small discounts and they dropped me like a bad habit.

SCREW GEICO....15 minutes and we'll screw you 15% or more on your car insurance.

Now I have USAA...they rock.

My rate hasn't changed appreciably since 03 when I bought my Evo. It may go up or down a few dollars each year but, nothing major like the OP is talking about. I have Kemper and they seem to be pretty good. Of course I've never had to make a claim with them which is when you find out what your insurance company is really like usually.

I would shop around then, call Geico and tell them you found insurance for $XX a year less and see if they'll match it. Then drop them for trying to screw you.

I HAD the gecko too, but after they did that to me 2 straight renewal times they didnt get a chance to do it a 3rd time.

Called Progressive and my rates went back to the way they were before the "Across the Board" rate hike.

I suggest you do the same. It was really satisfying to have them ask me why I was cancelling and I responded "Because you keep raising my rates"

I had that experience too with Geico. My insurance was like 1400 dollars per year for two cars and they increased it to 2400!! I switched to State Farm and it's all good now.
