Got mine yesterday (crazy fast shipping btw, ordered monday) and used it this morning on my way to work just to test it out. Obviously I wasn't really "pushing the limits" on my commute, but it was still very effective. Easy to use, and seems to hold very well. I like it.

just curious, has anyone seen pictures of someone with a crushed spine due to using a harness with no roll cage? online storys don't count for anything so don't bother telling me.

and of all these people who have crushed spines, how many of them can be directly attributed to having harnesses on (i.e. would it have happened with the stock belts? or with a CG lock?)

i've seen a ton of talk about this, and sopposed experts claiming both ways, but never once have i seen definitive proof that having a harness in a car with no cage means instant death in a roll-over. its kinda like the people who claim not having a 5th point means you'll submarine under the lap belt. well if you have the stock belt on the same thing will happen... right?

I belive most of the time people "submarine" is because they do not have there seats set up right..ie leaned back and seat back too far "gangsta style"...so basically in the wrong position for a crash...so yah i can see it happening with both 4 point and stock. i agree on this CG lock because its a great entry level safty equipment..not too tuff on the wallet.

People that wear 4-points run the risk of having the camlock rise up to their stomach in an accident causing internal organ damage. That is why professionals run 5 or 6 point......and for the guy doubting me on why this is a dangerous setup, why don't you refer to the SCCA or NASA racing website. I have posted a link in my other thread where it specifically states that running harnesses without a rollbar is NOT ALLOWED and SHOULD NOT pass tech inspection. But the fact of the matter is this, the people doing the tech don't have their lives at risk, so the only one that is going to save your life is YOU. Don't be so ignorant. If they were safe to use on the street then why does EVERY manufacturer use a stock 3-point???

Please use some common sense. Even Porsches with stock fixed back bucket Recaros with harness holes already in them run a 3-point.....

We are not saying that this is a common occurence, nor are we saying that everyone that rolls over without a rollbar will die or become paralyzed, but there is a risk. As stated by NASA and SCCA. So if you want to risk your life or mobility then go for it, but don't mislead your passengers into thinking it is a safe setup. I would rather be safe then sorry when my life is concerned.

Some people like to take unnecessary risks, go ahead and do it. Some people like to pay 1200 dollars for bling that makes their car more unsafe to ride in, go for it.

I first heard about these about 1 1/2 - 2 years ago, and they always seemed like an interesting product, but I never really saw any sort of direct commentary from people who'd used them. Nice to know that they actually work as advertised.

My wife's been looking for some inexpensive stocking stuffers to get for the Evo, so this and a pair of shifter bushings seems like they might be just the ticket...

looks like a great alternative to a harness bar and more practical....I hate how the evo belt loosens up over time....

Wow this was an old thread. Anyhow, Ive been using CGlocks for a few seasons now. They are a great product for the money. They will really hold you in and are simple to install and use. A few complaints, for me anyhow, is that they only last me one season of racing. It always seems to happen, towards the end of the season my cg lock will usually fall apart to the point it cant just be reinstalled with new screws.
I go through them regularly, but in all fairness its designed to fall apart and not interfere with the functions of the seatbelt in case of an accident.

Eventually I will get real harnesses, but for now I will just accept that I have to buy these things on a yearly basis.

Let me know if you need one, I have one that has been used less than 5 times. All boxed up in original packaging, will sell for cheap.

i'm told there is some part to place super glue when you first get it. supposedly this will keep some pin from coming out of a latch? does this sound familiar or correct? just curious, as i may grab one of these for my auto-x/HPDE.
