ok heres the deal.... bought a used evo 2003 and i love doesnt have ne real problems but to appease the parents i got the additional warranty.... well when it started to get cold out i tryed using my heat and the red/blue nob wont stay in the red.. it snaps right back to blue.... no biggie....... well the i got on it... and 5th gr started to grind just slightly af it was a over 3-4g shift..... soooo ya know ehh cool i actually use this warranty after alll... so i called them up told them the deal and they were all like no problem well get her fixed right up for ya..... ok so the whole day goes by and i didnt get a call...... next day no call.. soo i call.... they havent even done any thing to my car yet... they said some1 was test drivng it to figure out what was wrong with 5th after i tild them when i dropped it of that it was the sycro's... any way they figured it out and over the next 2 3 days... they took my car apart.... well a week went by and i called to see what was up? ummm i dont know let me call you back.. is what i got.... i was sooo mad... and i never got a call.. next deay.... umm yea we have your car apart and were waiting on the parts... then another 2 days... and they say that they have to wait on some insurance adjuster to come out and approve the fix... blah blah... im livid!!!!!! sooo mad i thought i had a heart attack lol soo i got the run around for a few... finally she came approved it and then guess what!? they told me that they have to wait bc they just orders the 5th gear syncro...!!!! omg they said they had ordered that already!!!! welll they got the part in and then they called me... hey richard yea we got the part but they sent us 2nd gear...... omg i was soooo mad.. i just hung up.. the guy told me that they couldnt get it for another week.......... they have hade my car for 3 weeks today.. and will have it a least a month or more before i get it back... it is all under warranty but i miss my car and im soo mad with them... they are payin for a rental but jeez this is soooo drawn out..... and for the hassle an the sress im thining of tryin to get something for free.... i didnt say this but i called them every day up there *** seeing what was goin on y it was taking so long... but thanx for listening... any one want to chim in......? peace

yea the closest to salisbury is prob winner in dover.. but this is through the place where i bought it..... SHHEERRRRWOOODDD.. they suck hahaha gotta a good deal on my car though...

 

damn, i cant believe dover is the closest, thats a hell of a ride just to get service.

 

for real...you need atleast type somewhat gramatically...

ANYWAY it really depends on the dealership u take it to, i would think it would be better to take it to smaller dealerships with a service department where they could get the parts and get it done fast since there won't be so much business there

sorry to read this thats why i have never taken my car to the dealer they dont know nothing!!!! i had bmw before and thats what i miss the real good customer service!

 

Damn man, it hurts my eyes just reading that but that sucks about the way the dealership handled the whole situation. Look at it this way. If you hadn't gotten the extended warranty you would have also been dishing out a couple of Gs.

 

The reason I went to school and learnd how to fix my own stuff.....sucks that it took so long. Getting a hold of parts for evolutions nowdays is gettting seemingly more and more difficult. And you needed the syncro update which had been recalled on your model. 3 & 5th I think it was.
Ordering the wrong part would make me ask.." if you guys ordered the wrong part,What else has gone wrong...? " You know.

 

the reason i asked about the rental is because of a lesson i learned. this is only if the rental belongs to the repair company. my buddy had the same problem as you. he got the shops "awesome" rental car. the shop keep dicking w/ him until he had enough. he went through 3 cars in a week. his vechicle was fix in no time. i cant tell you if it was fixed right, but it was done. i also want to add that i dont ever want to sit in a car, in a flooded field for 2 hours ever again. he definitely killed that rental car. just think of the joy you'll have driving it when it done and fixed.

 

You'll have the car back soon enough, have some patience!

Yeah the dealer didn't do what they said, but you'll experience that again, I guarantee that much.

I would never take my car to Sherwood.... right when i bought mine, the mistu dealership left Sherwood and jeep came in. I was only going to buy oil filters there LOL. Dover isnt much better. I would request them repair it at a mistu dealer.
Have you tried the obvious like flushing the fluids, changing the shift linkage bushing, etc.
Let me know if you need a hand (i was the white one you passed on 13)
