I was at www.evoclub.net and I noticed that the JDM Evo IX MR is a lot different from the US Evo IX MR.

Well here are some things I noted:
1. Headlights
2. Rear bumper
3. Tail lights

I was still though looking at it and theres something in the JDM model that makes it look way better than the US, from the front. I noticed an extended lower lip.

Is it just me or is the front bumper of the JDM IX MR different from the US.

 

thats the SE lip man.... you can get it on USDM Evo's if you order the "SE - Special Edition" Evo.

so thats actually not really a difference. But there are other differences much like you listed. I believe the JDM Evo's have AYC while USDM do not.

So I guess I can order for an OEM SE bumper, or better yet get it straight from Japan if I decide on an Evo IX project. (still 30% sure due to my GT-R)

 

I highly agree - there's not much of a difference comparing JDM and USDM IX MR aside from the headlights / rear bumper and Tail lights. The only part that i really don't get is the AYC.. i mean.. is it similar to the Tarmac/Gravel/Snow switches?!... could it?.. i dont know... and another thing that i notice about JDM MR's.. they have the same Enkei wheels that the base IX wears... i have it as a background on my desktop as it is... to me i think the JDM looks a lil bit more appealing..

Hmmm. Very interesing. What is the difference due to exactly? Do you happen to know? Is it a software/ECU tune difference? Higher boost level?Do the JDM IX's have the same emissions equipment(i.e. Catalytic convertor, EGR, and etc.)? I imagine that internally the engines are the same.
