Intercooler/Pipe Kit Question

First off, yes I have researched this, but haven't had a whole lot of luck with the info... Does anyone know which companies offer intercooler and pipe kits, that work with stock battery and stock air box? Please post here if you know. Thanks.

actually you gain from all hard pipe changes. every name in evo performance changes all intercooler pipes to hard charge pipes. for flow, and the fact that the hard pipes dont bulge under high boost applications, which in turn helps to keep maximum flow of air into the throttle body. i could be wrong but i do believe thats why everybody changes their ic pipes wether uicp or licp. i noticed injen had numbers up on their website about proven gains on their pipe set up. i know its their product and website but, common sense would dictate my first point about flow and non expansion. just my 2 cents anyway.

can you elaborate on how you got to that information please? i would love to understand the nature of it if im wrong. i would not want to be giving wrong advice to new members in the evom community. i would think if it is "cosmetic" alot of the full race guys wouldnt do it, right?

ive gotten alot of good advice from alot of the gurus here. in return i try to give good advice so if im wrong by all means correct me and elaborate to clarify my mis information please. thanks alot

i really find it hard to believe there are no benefits of an UICP kit, especially one that removes inches/feet of piping.

you're not going to see an increase in spool up...with uicp...there will definetly be no flexing of pipes because they are all hard pipes...boost pressure will remain the same....i would save money and buy something else...this is a mod you do when u have money to waste...and have pretty much met your base goals...

i dont have any direct results on my evo, but on my dsm just changing to a hard pipe free'd up 2-3 psi and was def quicker spooling...and yes i understand its not the same thing. but i still think there are some, albeit small, gains and benefits from removing bends and being hard pipes

Thanks everyone for your input... Well since you say that the upper isn't as effective, then how about the intercooler itself? It is worth changing right? I don't want to modify the bumper if I don't have to, just looking for a little more efficient intercooler piping set up. So then, which lower ic pipe and intercooler should I go with?

...plenty of fmic to choose from that fit without hacking the front bumper...u got a boost gauge yet? ...free up your system with a turbo back or catback...enjoy your evo

makes sense. thanks for your input. i still think going to a larger pipe will help also though.it might not be very noticeable but im sure it helps somewhere, also removing all the bends and added distance of piping, as buschur has said also helps throttle response and spool. i do see your point though. and imho i think its worth it. are there better mods you can do for the money? sure, ill agree with that. but sooner or later youll change it and i think its easier to just get it all in the kits available. thanks again for clarifying that for me.

Thanks so much. Didn't mean to get a problem going or anything. If anyone knows of any other companies that I could research their set up and purchase. Thanks everyone.
