I haven't broken alot of parts on my car.. But if you want to have a happy car experience, don't borrow money to buy it, pay outright if you can, and learn to fix your own car when its no longer under warranty..

If you can fix the car yourself, and have no payments, then your expenses are really just regular maintainance, modification parts, gas, insurance, and your time, without car payments and doing my own work, I can afford to own several cool cars.

put down $10K, and took me around 9 months to pay off the rest. Worked my *** off, paying off a mortgage and $1000+ monthly payments for an Evo at the same time, but got it done.

My next payment will take me below $10K. I got a six-year loan in 2003 and I'll have it paid this year.

Make sure you analyze your other debt and your investments to see if paying a big chunk on your loan is the best use of that money. If you have a rate under 7% on your car loan you might be able to invest your $$ and make some interest. That's how Carnegie made some of his loot.

^^This guy's a pimp! I wish I had that kind of cash flow. I actually plan to drop about $3Gs on mine here in March when I get my bonus along with some new brakes, cams, and headstuds/tensioner,etc. I bought it brand new in late July of 2004 and hope to have it paid off by late July 2007. Then the real modding can begin!!!

I'll probably never know that feeling.

I sometimes wonder what I'm doing with such a car note.

I have 0% financing, so I don't really care. The longer it takes me, the more money I make...

Its nice to have the lower payments im sure. It might suck becuase you could have modded it a ton, but in the end you will pay less in interest...

I was planning to pay mine off in the next few months, but currently my investments are outstripping my interest rate on the loan, so I'm just gonna sit on it until that changes.
