Got a VG for Christmas. Should I install in 40° weather?
I read the install threads and I know the black strips have to be popped. Will they crack when I mess with them in cold weather? Can I do it this weekend with temps in the 40s (Chicago) or should I wait until it gets warmer? What about the double sided sticky tape? Will it stick as well in 40° as it would when it's 60° outside? I want the VG on like yesterday, but not if I have to replace perfectly good parts...
i put mine on like a week ago. it was probably around 40s here also. the install went fine. the only thing thats a b*tch to do is taking off the weather stripping. my fingers were in pain doing that. other than that you shouldn't have anything to worry about
.
I would wait until it's a little warmer or use a heat gun if you have never done it before it is the clips are very brittle and you have to heat up the area for the 2 sided tape or when the temp changes (warm up) the tape won't stick well.
