06 MR steering wheel , crap?

As soon as I pulled out of the dealership with 2 miles on the clock, I noticed the steering wheel was peeling at the 6 o'clock area.

My question , is there anyone one with the same problem ( I am sure ) and what can we do to prevent the peeling from spreading or should Mitsu just replace the steering wheel?

Otherwise , I love the feel of the wheel, coming from an STi, the momo is way bettterrr!

Thanks!

First of all this has been covered about a billion times. Second of all, you just need to go back to the dealer that you purchased the car from and they will order you a new steering wheel under your warranty. Case closed...

I have the original momo on my 03 and the only thing wrong with it is that the leather on the 12 position is worn, its like swede now. I would take it back to the dealer before the have time to say that you are responsible for the damage. But with mitsu, you could have noticed it during a test drive and they would still blame you

I don't have that problem. Yes, the dealer should replace it. The Evo wheel is a Momo as well.

I bought my car from another state, so any mitsu dealer should be able to replace it while its under warrenty correct?

Are there any aftermarket wheels that are direct replacements (maintaining the air bag) for the stock wheel?

Examples:

Problem ------- their answers
brakes ------ oh thats normal, high performance noises are like that
alignment ----- you have to bring it back tomorrow and leave it for the whole
we'll take it to Sears to align it for ya

and last I wanted to do my first oil change from it and they charge me a little bit over $60 (not including oil filter) imagine that

Really? It seemed to be a pretty simple reply to me. I won't even comment on that little gem.

If you would have taken just a couple of minutes to search - as was suggested - you would have known that replacement of the steering wheel is a non-issue. Many folks had the same problem, including myself, and in every instance the defective part was replaced under warranty. End of story.
